I'm on unemployment. I have to pay in $565 for taxes by April 15. I have no savings and live check-to-check struggling to make my monthly bills. How in the world am I going to pay my taxes? Is there a payment plan the IRS has for people who can't pay their taxes?
I have a tax lien on property. What is the best way to take care of the tax lien?
Can a spouse’s wages be garnished for a medical debt incurred in the name of the other spouse?
I owned a house in state A while claiming residency in state B. I never worked or collected a pay check in state A. I sold that house in 2005 and in April of this year received an assessment for state income tax for years 2002-2005. I am in the process of appealing this decision but have continued to receive assessments and a threat of a lien on my property. Can state A put a lien on my property in state B? Should I worry about a failed appeal, other than collections?
I taught for a few years and am not teaching anymore. If I pull my money out of the CalPERS retirement program will it be taken like my tax return?
