We have recently lost my husband's income. He qualifies for Social Security. However, until he registers for Social Security and begins receiving payments, we find ourselves stretched too thin. We would like to protect our credit rating. Is there any way we can legitimately and effectively re-negotiate our credit card obligations, car loan and mortgage to help us get through this tough time?
I had been unemployed for a long time. I ran up debt to pay for necessities. Now I am back to work, but at a low-paying job. I have not missed any payments on my debt, but I am paying more than $200 a month just in interest charges. What can I do to pay my debt more quickly on a meager salary?
We were participating in a debt management program. I lost my job and could not make the monthly payment to the management program. We were kicked out of the program after three years. We are now still behind with higher interest rates, late payments and some in collection. Any advice other than bankruptcy.
I have been unemployed for the two years and in with my parents. I recently got a job. I own a car that my parents helped me buy in order to get to work. If there is a judgement against me, can the collection agency take my car?
